Purpose
This policy outlines EGU's commitment to conducting business in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. While the environmental footprint of a professional services firm is modest, we recognise that responsible practice extends to how we use resources, procure supplies, and engage with technology — and that these decisions reflect the same standards we apply to everything else we do.
Scope
This policy applies to all EGU divisions and covers office operations, technology use, client communications, procurement, and travel.
Our Commitment
EGU is committed to:
Complying with all relevant Australian environmental legislation, regulations, and local requirements
Supporting sustainable business practices across all divisions
Reviewing and improving our environmental performance on an ongoing basis
Conducting business in a manner that reflects responsible and ethical decision-making
Paper and Records
We operate a paper-light practice through electronic record keeping, cloud-based systems, and digital client correspondence. Printing is limited to essential documents. Double-sided printing is used where possible. Paper and cardboard are recycled through approved services.
Energy and Resources
We use energy-efficient equipment and lighting, and minimise unnecessary consumption of consumables including ink, stationery, and office supplies. Devices are turned off when not in use.
Technology and E-Waste
We use digital meeting platforms to reduce travel-related emissions. Equipment is maintained and upgraded responsibly to extend its useful life. Electronic waste is disposed of through approved Australian e-waste recycling programs.
Procurement
Where practicable, we purchase recycled, reusable, or sustainably sourced office supplies. We prefer suppliers and service providers that demonstrate environmentally responsible practices.
Travel
We minimise travel by offering remote services and meetings wherever possible. When travel is necessary, we consider environmentally efficient transport options.
Review
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains appropriate to the nature and scale of EGU's operations and aligned with evolving professional and environmental expectations.
